Guam - The U.S. Coast Guard is coordinating a search for a 19-foot fiberglass skiff with two adults on board. The overdue vessel was participating in an off shore fishing derby off the West coast of Pohnpei.
On SUnday, at 06:30 am the Coast Guard Joint Rescue Sub-Center Guam received a call from the Pohnpei Search and Rescue Liaison Mr. Dais Loren reporting the vessel and two missing persons.

The vessel was last seen at 10 am Saturday while fishing 3 miles off the Western side of the island and was reported to have food and water on board.

A twin-engine aircraft from Caroline Islands Air has been searching the past four days, along with the Federated States Ship (FSS) Micronesia, a tourist helicopter and many local skiffs.

On Tuesday a Coast Guard C-130 aircraft from Hawaii joined the search and is expected to search tomorrow. To date 17 searches have been completed covering 7,200 square nautical miles.

The U.S. Coast Guard is asking residents and mariners to keep a look out for the vessel or persons and report any information to the U.S. Coast Guard at (671) 564-USCG.
